After moving away from a career in commercial art, founder Dixie Young started Gildalily as a way to restore little relics of the past. Please keep in mind that many vintage garments are over 80 years old and may show some signs of age; we work to outline condition for each through our grading system along with details on any imperfections within each listing.

We grade vintage condition according to the following:
Mint: Never been worn or flawless condition
Excellent: Expected minor signs of wear taking into account age, not significant enough to be noticeable
Very Good: Shows wear, shown in photos or expressed in description but overall doesn’t heavily impact garment quality
Good: Wearable, but has noticeable flaws in photos or expressed in caption
Fair: For display, repair, or study purposes only
